Relationship Dilemma: Abusive Relations

Spread the love

This is the one relationship dilemma which is extremely hard on you but not difficult to conquer. I know its easy to say than to implement. But remember

Healthy Relationships = Respect & Trust

If you do not find this in your relationship, it’s an alarming situation.

Abuse is not only physical but it could be emotional or sexual as well.

It is difficult to recognize emotional abuse because sometimes people mistake intense jealousy and possessiveness as a sign of intense feelings of love. It may even seem flattering at first. Intimidation, controlling behaviour and betrayal are all harmful forms of emotional abuse that can really hurt — not just during the time it’s happening, but long after too. If your partner tries to control you or makes you feel insignificant, it’s obvious they’re not the one for you.

If you feel that you’re in an abusive relationship, alert your parents, trusted adult, health provider, friend or anyone whom you can share.

Don’t break up with the abuser when you’re completely alone together.

Surround yourself with family and friends as you ready yourself to leave the relationship.

Keep in mind that the abuser is the one with the problem; the abuse has nothing to do with you. Never blame yourself for the abuse

It is recommended to swiftly leave an abusive relationship.
